About JCI
The "Japan Connect Initiative (JCI)" is an accelerator program designed to create a sustainable cross-border ecosystem It aims to support startups looking to expand from four Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, andr It aims to support startups looking to expand from four Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia to Japan, as well as startups from Japan who wish to expand to these four Southeast Asian countries.
The program includes seminars, mentoring sessions, pitching events for overseas expansion. It also provides financial assistance for travel expenses. After the accelerator program concludes, JCI will offer accompanying support including business matching and negotiation assistance. The program collaborates with local incubators and accelerators in Southeast Asia to assist in achieving global expansion.
In November 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) introduced "Global Innovation with STARTUPS," aiming to pioneer an environment conducive to entrepreneurship by innovating startup support strategies. As part of the "10×10×10 Innovation Vision," which strives for tenfold increases in the number of unicorns, startups, and collaborative efforts within five years, TMG initiated the "TOKYO SUTEAM" project. This project seeks to foster startup creation and growth by fostering initiatives that harness the resources and networks of diverse entities supporting startups. Tsucrea, in partnership with TSI, has been chosen as a project partner and is launching the JCI program to fulfill this mission
