Masao Kawano

He joined an advertising agency as a new graduate and worked there for 20 years before moving to a creative agency in the US. Later, as president of a subsidiary of a listed company, he produced restaurants and his own brand while studying Business Management. Since 2006, he has been in charge of overseas business, visual business division, management strategy, planning and production at Kadokawa Pictures (now KADOKAWA Co., Ltd.). He was involved in Japan's first digital 4K restoration of Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon", for which he received America's National Book Critics Circle Award. He is a member of the Japan Academy Prize Executive Committee and the Tokyo International Anime Fair Executive Committee. Since 2020, he has been working as an incubation manager at the Tokyo Content Incubation Center. As a project in collaboration with content-related startups, he has been in charge as the producer of the NFT's animation "Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya" since 2022.
